BirthdaY Party!

This past Saturday we went to a birthday party at my Aunt's house in Santa Clara, celebrating several birthdays of cousins, spouses, and my Aunt.

This is my cousin's, Christina, baby Jacob, he is nearly 20lbs. now and is about 6 weeks older than Ava

The kids want to play or dance or something...

Look at all those babies!! The middle one is one month old and he is my Aunt's 4th boy, she was funny, she asked me if I would trade with her....


now, those are NOT asian eyes...

What a nice birthday party, I left out the karoke video, but maybe I'll add that later...hehehehe

The morning after...

she was in a deep sleep

nothing was waking her up

NOT even the clicking of the camera (which usually startles her)

she's sticking her tongue out at me, right?

but still completely asleep, so the trick is to wear her out physically and emotionally??

Is all of that worth a full night of sleep?? Hmmmm.....just don't ask me when I'm tired...

Daddy teaching her new tricks

She was content doing her daily tummy time routine, when daddy stepped in to show her new tricks...

first, a piggy back ride (sorta)

so far so good...

now he's trying to get her to complete a roll

she can get on her side pretty easily

but she can't seem to get past that arm

so she'll kick herself tired and roll back to her resting position

But Daddy won't stop there, it's on to teaching her to stand

pretty successful lesson, huh?

This is me telling Pops, "that's enough" and he's shooting me that innocent look, but the truth can be seen in her face

So Mama to the rescue....I rewarded her with a banana, which seemed to appease her

Happy Mother's Day!

Daddy took mama to Fisher Man's Wharf to eat, then for a walk in the park

A very nice man stopped and offered to take our picture, he had two little toddlers of his own with him, and afterwards he said, in a real sincere way;

"it only gets better from here, trust me."

It was such a sweet gesture...

Daddy does a great job of entertaining/taking care of baby... so mama can relax

He always knows how to make her giggle

She was surprisingly calm and cheery with all of the day's activities.

I hope all you mamas out there had a blast this Mother's Day too!

Overstimulated?!?

She loves hearing the different animal sounds...

...but really, just mostly the lion (cause her hand can reach it)

BUT here she is TURNING!

(I know, I know, we've become "those" parents......those parents that think everything their baby does is "AMAZING" and "EXCITING", though it may be seemingly ORDINARY)

She's moved on to the next activity....our little one is a spinning, exploring fool!
