Hungry, Hungry Hippo

Ava's first noodle

With Ava growing so quickly these days, she's pretty much eating us out of house and home (hahaha), so we finally broke down and got a Costco membership. Ava really enjoyed the trip.

BabyLegs

Ever since Ava started crawling, I started to get concerned about her knees dragging across the hardwood floors. (I know, I know, I should really start getting out more.) So anyhow, instead of getting those dorky, bulky baby knee pads, I thought this was a much more fashionable and functional solution! And because I'm a stay-at-home mom, I needed to find a good deal, which I now must share with you guys because that's how I am & they've got a great sale going on right now (BabyLegs, HotSlings, Beco Butterfly Carriers)...and guess what? They are actually located in Keller, TX! Of all places....So if you want to keep up with new baby trends, check them out (*ahem* especially for you girls that are expecting *ahem* you know who you are):

babySNAZZ, fun & stylish for baby and mom

All I do now is research baby products, it's enough to make you want to go out & invent your own stuff, huh? Oh well, we'll see.....for now, here's my baby modeling her new BabyLegs!

Watching the Maltese Falcon Yacht sail into the San Francisco Bay

We took a stroll through Crissy Field to view the Maltese Falcon Yacht

This is one of the largest, privately owned yachts, at 289 feet!

The Maltese Falcon Yacht sailed swiftly passed the Golden Gate Bridge

Ava's getting restless...

Once we're on the move, she seems so cheerful

but then we introduced her to the sensation of thick grass between her toes, though it doesn't look like she prefers that....hmmph

what a long day

What an angel!

Ferber Napping

So, we failed miserably with our first round of Dr. Ferber's sleep method at bed time a few weeks ago. She was wailing for 2 sessions at 45 & 50 minutes a piece and still going strong by the 5th night, she was drenched in sweat and looked sooo pathetic there was no way we were going to try a 3rd session. Ava has what we'd consider a "persistent" personality & the fact that she can stand now doesn't help the situation.

We thought we would ease back in to it; take baby steps & start with Ferber napping.

Which was okay, I played with her in the crib until I thought she was exhausted, but after I crawled out of the room, she played by herself for about 6 minutes before she continued to "cry it out" for about 20 minutes.

Then she finally collapsed & wedged herself right up against the rail & napped for over an hour

By the second nap, she was a pro.

Daddy left some green beans on/up her nose and face for later.....

Baby Fit

This is her determined face
(I guess she really wants that lotion)

Her antsy face

Kind of an evil face

whiney face

and best of all; sad, pathetic face

Mommy and Daddy are so mean, but it turned out she wasn't reaching for the lotion, she was reaching out for us....DOH! But I just wanted to show that we don't just torture her for pictures...we comforted her afterwards...hahaha.

She's got a pretty good sense of humor.

What are we going to do with this mess?

Look at that head of hair

it has a mind of its own

Kind of new wave though, eh? Very 80's.

She seems to like it just fine...

Stupid Toys!

So, it doesn't really matter that we don't buy her toys, because anytime she has a choice, she'll pick the one item that is not a toy --

...every single time and she'll play with it OR

just try to eat it
